SEF in Joomla

For some reason, the css files couldn"t be found anymore.

Followed a couple of tips on this site:

and finally got it to work.

So this is what I did:

- remove the cache files (from backend jooml, under tools)
- set caching to no in joomla config
- renamed htaccess.txt to .htaccess
- set SEF URL"s and mod_rewrite to ON
- AND (!!!) set the live-path in the config to http://www.mydomain.com

The last part seemed to do the final trick.
Pages deeper in the website now load quickly, with layout and with friendly url"s.
